Ruben graduated from Roy Miller High School and went on to build a dedicated career in production with Pepsi Cola, where he worked faithfully for over 30 years. His strong work ethic, reliability, and quiet determination earned the respect of his colleagues and friends alike.
On October 27, 1990, Ruben married the love of his life, Elena Balderas, at their residence in Corpus Christi. From the very beginning—when he and Elena would laugh and say “not yet” when asked if they were married—his heart was already committed to building a beautiful life together. Their love was rooted in laughter, devotion, and unwavering support.
Ruben had a passion for cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, fishing, gardening, and working with his hands. Whether he was making repairs around the house or helping someone with a project, he was always ready to lend a hand. He was deeply dependable and would do anything asked of him for the people he loved.
Some of the family’s most treasured memories include the many meals they prepared together and Ruben’s special Thanksgiving cooking contributions. His face would light up with tenderness the first time he held his grandson, Orson, and through the countless days he lovingly cared for him as a baby and toddler. He taught Adela how to ride a bike, helped her move into her college dorm, and showed his love not through grand gestures, but by simply always being there. His steady presence was a constant source of comfort and strength.
Ruben was known for his quiet strength and steady presence, his gentle and accepting heart, and his famous margaritas that had a way of bringing everyone together. He had a gift for making people feel welcome and valued.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ignacio Cantu and Guadalupe Torres Cantu, and his brother, Roberto Cantu.
He is lovingly survived by his children, Adriano Garcia III and Adela (Jacob Boll) Garcia; his grandchildren, Johnny Aldrighetti, Julia A. Garcia, and Orson M. Garcia Boll; and his siblings, Anita Dominguez, Delia Cantu, and Rene Cantu. He also leaves behind extended family and many dear friends who will cherish his memory forever.
The family extends special thanks to Jacob Boll for his care, help, and unwavering support during this time.
In honor of Ruben’s love for his team, the family invites everyone attending the services to wear their best Dallas Cowboys attire.
Ruben’s legacy of love, loyalty, and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered
