Ruben Garza Jr.

He worked at Horton Automatics for 30 years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather. He will be dearly missed.

Ruben is preceded in death by both his parents, Ruben Sr. and Esperanza Garza; brother, Edward Garza.

The family he leaves behind to cherish his memories is his loving wife of 41 years, Rebecca A. Garza; his children, Gina D. Vera, John J. Garza (Jennifer Moreno), Ruben Andrew Garza (Yvonne) and Joshua P. Garza (Jeanna). Ruben has 11 grandchildren and one great grandson. Also, survived by brother, John Garza (Barbara); sisters, Rose (Edward) Alvarez, Laura (Orlando) Garcia, Yolanda (Pablo) Villarreal, Melinda Garza; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A special thanks to all nursing staff, especially nurse Maritess at Spohn Shoreline 4th floor ICU, and Dr. Jude Arriguzo that cared for him for over 9 years, and Raul Maldonado for his continuous care and Laurel Garza for her loving dedication.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2014 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 10, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
