

Ruth Claire (Duke) Einkauf, known as MawMaw, passed away June 26, 2021. She was born in Atlanta, Ga. On March 19, 1925 to George & Lucille Duke. Her Father died when she was 3 years old & they moved to San Antonio, Tx. Her mother died when she was 10 years old and her loving Aunt Irene & Uncle Maxie Brooks raised Ruth & her sister along with their two children.
Ruth married Walter (Bragg) Einkauf, Sept. 16, 1944 in San Antonio, Tx & worked for the San Antonio Public Service Co. until her husband returned from the war. They moved to Corpus Christi in 1947, where Walter owned & operated Bragg Neon Sign Co. until his death in 1995 & Ruth was his secretary. They raised 3 children. Ruth was loved by many people & was always ready to help where ever she was needed. Especially with grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ruth was a member and elder of Jackson Woods Presbyterian Church, a past P.T.A. President, past member American Business Women, she was a life time member of the Benevolent Patriotic Order of Does #48, which she was a 3 time President, Conductor for 25 years & Bingo chairman for 19 years & a Grand Lodge member of the B.P.O. Does of America. She was a Charter member of Industrial Noon Lions Club & was their treasurer for many years. Ruth was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She will always be remembered for her devotion and love for her family, church and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Walter of 51 years, her son, Walter Frank Einkauf, Jr., her parents, aunt & uncle, a baby grandson, Daniel Charles Hight, Jr., her son in law, Daniel Charles Hight, sister, Georgia Ann Moxley & special cousins Florine & Cynthia Weynand.
She is survived by two daughters, Lucille Ann Hight of Corpus Christi & Merrilyn (Billy) Paul of Odem, daughter in law, Cynthia Einkauf of Corpus Christi & Maxine Brown of Barrington, IL. Grandchildren, Todd (Shelly) Einkauf, Cedar Park, TX, Jason (Kim) Einkauf, Luke (Arianne) Hight, Corpus Christi, Duke (Katye) Hight, Montgomery, TX, Dee Dee Freudenrich of San Antonio, TX, Kimberly & Donnie Cooper & Justin Voelkel of Odem.
Great Grandchildren, Kailey & Bryce Einkauf, Hayden, Hadleigh & Hollynn Hight, Emily & Dillon Hight, CJ & Ethan Freudenrich, Kamlyn, Kyla & Cale Cooper.
Step Grandchildren, Cody Paul, Jennifer (Nelson) Wray of San Marcos, Tx & Lacey Paul of Nordheim, Tx. Step Great Grandchildren, Chyanne & Ty Paul, Tyler, William, Alana & Nora Wray.
Pallbearers – Todd Einkauf, Luke & Duke Hight, Justin Voelkel, Donnie Cooper & Hayden Hight.
Honorary Pallbearers – Bob Dickson, Richard Jackson & Dr. Mark Strauss.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Lions Camp of Handicap Children in Kerrville, Tx or Jackson Woods Presbyterian Church or your favorite charity.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at 8:30 AM at Memory Gardens Funeral Home with service to follow at 10:00 AM. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
