

Salome “Sal” Soliz III, 57 of Corpus Christi, Texas was called home to his eternal rest on Friday, June 11, 2010 surrounded by his beloved family, due to a battle with cancer. Sal was born on August 31, 1952 in Hebbronville; Texas was from the Class of 1971 from Roy Miller High School. He was a member of the De Lords Boys Club while in high school. He was a very happy, generous and a man of all trades; always thinking of others before himself. He enjoyed music and dancing. As a pastime he also enjoyed playing the guitar, harmonica and accordion. He was an avid supporter of the Roy Miller Buccaneers, Texas Longhorns and Dallas cowboys. Sal is survived by his parents, Salome, Jr. and Estela G. Soliz; his son, Shawn (Cathy) Gusman from Austin, Texas; his companion, Diana Carter; his brothers and sisters from Corpus Christi, TX, Esther (Hubert) Garza, Felix (Mary Lou) Soliz, Doralisa (Jesse) Reyna, David and Ruben Soliz, and Sam Soliz from Katy, TX.
His pride and joy were his nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. He was also fond of his special friend, Bush (his dog).
Family would like to thank Spohn Memorial Hospital, Sunnybrook Health Care and Legacy Hospice Staff for all their care and support.
Visitation will be held Monday, June 14, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home with a Holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Corpus Christi, Texas..
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at 2 p.m. at New Hebbronville Cemetery, Hebbronville, Texas.
