Santana Garcia, Sr., passed away peacefully at his home on October 5, 2024, at the age of 96. Santana was born on September 30, 1928, in La Reforma, Hidalgo, Texas, to his parents, Sabas and Maria Garcia. He was one of nine brothers and sisters.
Santana met the love of his life, Adela Acosta, and soon after they married in 1951. He found a job working at Sears Roebuck in Corpus Christi, where he retired as a Warehouse Manager and Supervisor after 42 years. Adela would stay home to care for and raise their children.
Santana was incredibly handy; there was nothing he couldn't fix. He was a handyman, repairman, mechanic, plumber, and carpenter. Santana loved music. He would play his guitar at family gatherings and sing songs with Adela. He lived a full and blessed life. Although his family is heartbroken, they are comforted by knowing he is reunited with his parents, Sabas and Maria Garcia; wife, Adela Acosta Garcia; daughter, Herlinda (Manuel) Fernandez; and his grandson, Adan Guerra.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Adriana (Robert) Hardy, Margie (late Lawrence) Dalton, Rene (Dalia) Garcia, Santana (Joann) Garcia, Jr., Rebecca (Doroteo) Quintanilla, Anna Armador, Homer (Judy) Garcia, and Raul (Ninfa) Garcia. He also leaves behind 25 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
The Garcia Family would like to thank the staff at Christus Spohn Hospital Shoreline and Enhabit Home Health for the care of their beloved dad during his final days.
