Sofia Flores Rivera

Sofia was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend but to those that knew her best, she was an exceptional person. She had many hobbies but her favorite pastime times included gardening, listening to music-especially corridos, embroidering and painting. She loved to keep her mind active and enjoyed a good crossword puzzle or creating a craft. Sofia was a beautiful mother and grandmother that enjoyed spending time with her beloved family, shopping, getting her nails done and keeping up with her hair. She was an independent woman that spoke her mind. She was the matriarch of the family that kept everyone together. Sofia had a heart of gold that would do anything for her family. Her supportive personality, joyful and generous soul will be greatly missed. She leaves with all those who knew her many wonderful memories.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Sylvia (Joe Rodriguez), Ricardo Rivera, Graciela (Tomas) Lemus, Diana Treviño (Ricardo +), Noe (Mari) Rivera, Rosalind Torres (Daniel,Sr. +). Sister, Jesusa Flores; several grandchildren, including Ricardo Jr., Gabriel, and Laurie Trevino, Vanessa, Daniella, and Daniel Jr. Torres; great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, along with various extended family and friends.

Sofia is reunited with her husband, Juan Rivera; son, Rene Rivera; parents, Petra and Juan Canales Flores;brothers, Jim and Ignacio; and son-in-laws, Ricardo Treviño and Daniel Torres.

A visitation for Sofia will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2024 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Funeraria Del Angel Cheyenne located at 549 Cheyenne St., Corpus Christi, Texas 78405. Holy Mass being held at 1:00pm at St. Theresa Catholic Church followed by a burial Memorial Gardens.
