

He attended five years of school at St. Joseph Catholic School in Ponchatoula, Louisiana. He finished his schooling at Central in East Baton Rouge Parish, graduating in 1951.
He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1951 and was honorably discharged in 1955. While stationed in Corpus Christi, Texas, he met and married Ada Grace, who died after 43 years of marriage. They raised three children: Terry Michelle, Brian Paul and Richard J. Duplessis. Stanley was employed by Reynolds Metal Co.Sherwin Plant in 1955. He started as a laborer and retired as salary after 37 ½ years of service.
In 1997, he met the current love of his life, Rosalie Williams. They were married in 2003.
Stanley leaves behind his loving wife, Rosalie; brother Phillip (Helen Faye) Duplessis, sisters: Audrey (Pete) Langolis, Betty Caster, Helen Ford and Janice Carpenter; children: Brian Duplessis, Richard (Grace) Duplessis, son-in-law Robert Schacherl, step-sons Chris (Leanne) Williams and Keith Williams; grandchildren: R.J. Duplessis, Natalie (Marc) Elmore, Nate Schacherl, Marissa Schacherl, Jacob and Caleb Duplessis, Jordan and Kendall Williams, Christine and Dayna Lynn Farley; great-grandchildren: Sammy Duplessis, Elaine Elmore, Caroline Finnegan and Leland, Katelynn and John Fleming.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Alter and Theresa, brother Kenneth, daughter Terry Schacherl, and his first love, Ada Grace.
He was much loved. He never met a stranger. Anyone who crossed his path was someone to get to know and become friends with. He was very charismatic. Dancing was a favorite pastime and he was always the life of the party. If you knew him well, you are probably smiling in memory of some of his antics. He will be missed by many, many people.
The family will be receiving friends at St. Pius Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
