

Steven attended Richard King High School and had been attending Del Mar College where he was working towards an Air Conditioning and Appliance Repair Certificate. He was a Christian man, attending the Alter of Prayer church for over 30 years, where he was loved by his students and church family.
He was a dedicated HEB employee for 29 ½ years where he was blessed to work as a Truck Driver. He was a gentle giant who was kind hearted, quiet, and was known to many as the “Noise Maker.”
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, uncle and brother who had the greatest love for his family. He was a beautiful example of what a husband and father should be.
Steven enjoyed cooking, playing the guitar, spending time with family, and had a real love for computers and cell phone technology. He will be remembered for his love of music, his laughter and sense of humor, and his enjoyment of eating. He will be dearly missed by all his friends and family.
Steven was married to the love of his life, Leslie Smith, for 30 years and is survived by her and their 3 children, Jilian Smith, Chelsea Smith, and Brittani Smith; his 3 grandchildren, John Samuel Banda, Celeste Banda, and Jaclyn Banda; his 3 sisters, Mary Ann Smith Bazan (Arnold), Pauline Moya (Rudolph), and Florence Cisneros; 4 brothers, David Smith (Elizabeth), Tomas Smith, Martin Smith, Raymond Gates.
Preceding Steven in death were 2 brothers, Rudolph Smith and Ruben Smith.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 6, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 pm with Prayer Service starting at 7:00 p.m. at Alter of Prayer Church, 3945 Ayers Street.
Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 10:30 am at Alter of Prayer with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to join the family for lunch after the burial at Alter of Prayer Church.
