Tammy Kaylean Morgan Placker, age 66, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2024. A lifelong resident of Corpus Christi, Tammy was born on January 31, 1958, to her parents Larry Morgan and Doris Parkes Dorsey.
Tammy had a rough upbringing and hard life in general, but enjoyed her later years with a carefree spirit. She could often be found playing on the computer, her phone, and putting together puzzles. She was very creative and even dabbled with her own small business making custom jewelry. Tammy loved to dance, despite having two left feet, and brought life to the expression, “Dance like no one is watching!”
Tammy was charismatic and knew how to evoke emotion in her friends and family, sharing the occasional cruel prank and making them laugh. Her family jokes about her lack of skill in the kitchen, recalling a story of her infamous lasagna, which ruined their taste for lasagna for years to come. She was described as an all-around fun person to spend time with. More than anything, Tammy loved to spend time with those who were closest to her. She wore her emotions on her sleeve and loved her family to the fullest extent.
Tammy is reunited with her parents, Larry Morgan and Doris Parkes (Donald) Dorsey; her beloved son, Willis; and her furry companion of 22 years, Gracie. Tammy leaves her memories to her children, Damon, Joseph, and Kara; seven grandchildren; siblings, Donald “Don” Dorsey, and Dezorae “Dezi” Whiteaker; best friend, Linda Barker; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family will be honoring Tammy’s final wish of cremation. There are no services scheduled for her at this time.
