Torcuato V. Luna

Torcuato Vera Luna passed on November 17, 2025, in Lewisville, Texas, at the age of 96 years old. He was born on September 6, 1929, in San Diego, Texas and graduated for San Diego HS in 1947. He was a proud Korean War Veteran serving in the 82nd Airborne Division. After military life, he moved to Corpus Christi, Texas where he met and married his beautiful wife, Concepcion Moreno, and raised 3 children.

Torcuato, or Cuare as he was affectionately known, had an enthusiasm for life and lived his life each day to the fullest. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather. He was a gifted gardener cultivating a breathtaking garden filled with beautiful tropical plants and flowers. He was a gifted craftsman as well, building a beautiful deck and gazebo to create a magnificent oasis in his backyard. Family and friends always felt welcomed in Cuare’s backyard where they were greeted with a beautiful warm smile and genuine companionship. Cuare’s barbeques and backyard parties are legendary and will be cherished memories for many who were fortunate to attend.

Torcuato is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Concepcion Luna; his daughter, Norma Luna Muniz; his parents, Julian and Adela Luna; his brother, Pedro Luna (Evelyn Luna); and 2 sisters, Rebecca Amaya (Ramon Amaya) and Esperanza Gonzales (Pedro Gonzales).

Torcuato is survived by his daughter, Adela Luna Gutierrez (Paul Gutierrez); his son, Arnold Luna (Mark Brown); 4 grandchildren, Adriana Muniz Lane (Jim Lane); Aimee Muniz Bendure (Matthew Bendure); Denise Gutierrez, and Michael Gutierrez (Justine Alejandro); his 6 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, located at 8200 Old Brownsville Rd, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415 on November 25, 2025, at 9:30 am – 11:00 am. The Rosary will be held after the viewing at 11:30 am at Holy Family Church. The Funeral Mass will be held immediately after the Rosary at 12 noon. Interment will be following the mass at 1:30 pm at Memory Garden Cemetery.
