Virginia Melve Rivera

Virginia Melve Rivera, 78, beloved wife, sister, and aunt was called to our Lord on Monday, July 18, 2011. She was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas, as a young woman, she loved to sing, dance, and spend quality tim with family members. She worked at Walgreens, H.E.B., attended business college, and then joined the U.S. Army.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Rivera; parents, Jose A. and Genoveva D. Melve; sisters, Consuelo Perez, Janie Garza, Gloria Morrow, and Delia Melve; brothers, Joe Melve, Jr., Juan Melve and three nephews.

She is survived by her sisters, Carmen Vargas, Blanca Martinez and Susie Trujillo; brothers, Frank Melve, and Arturo (Nori) Melve, along with 18 nephews and nieces, 28 grand nephews and nieces and four great-grand nephews and nieces.

Public visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Funeraria del Angel-Memorial Holly with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Rites of a Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 on Friday, July 22, 2011 at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
