William served in U.S. Army during the Korean conflict and worked at Alcoa for 24 years before retiring. He was an avid hunter, freshwater fisherman and loved being with his family during all occasions.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Edith, June and Melvinie; brothers, Ray, F.D. and Elbert; son William Douglas Brown.
He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Velma Chris Brown; children, Naomi (Donnie) White, Rebecca (David) Woods, Michael (Danielle) Brown and Lillian Christine Brown; grandchildren, Jennifer Mueck, Shannon Bell, Leslie Cullison, Matthew Woods and Sophie Lee Vela and several great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 7, 2012 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a memorial service to be held Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Memory Gardens.
