

Willie West Mueller, the youngest of seven children of Sandia pioneers William and Addie West, passed away surrounded by her family May 25, 2011 after a short illness at the age of 93. She was born in “the big house on the hill” April 1, 1918, and married LeRoy George Mueller of Orange Grove in 1945. They made their home in the Corpus Christi area until moving to East Texas in 1957, where they lived until retirement allowed them to return to South Texas. She was a homemaker, always active in her church and her daughters’ activities.
She is survived by her daughters Kay Davis (Richard) and Judy Novak (Tom); granddaughters Stacy Davis, Kimberly Frawner (Wayne), Brittany Escobar (Michael), and Shannon Novak; and great granddaughter Jordan Frawner. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and by her church family at Parkdale Baptist Church.
A visitation with family present will be held Thursday, May 26 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Cage Mills Everhart chapel, and a funeral service will be conducted graveside at Sandia Cemetery Friday, May 27, at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to CHRISTUS Spohn Foundation, 600 Elizabeth, C.C. TX 78404, or to a charity of your choice.
