Allen (Al) H. Young

Allen (Al) H. Young age 74 of Coshocton, passed away unexpectedly at Grant Medical Center in Columbus on Sunday, April 19, 2015. Al was born in Coshocton on December 20, 1940 to the late Willis Young and Lola (Fortune) Matchett and was a 1957 Coshocton High School graduate. He was a United States Marine Corp Veteran, and a United States National Guard Veteran and later retired from the Sheriff’s department. On September 2, 1972, Al married the love of his life Debbie (Dawson) Young. Al was a family man and loved going to his grandchildren’s activities. He also enjoyed hunting.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Barb Shingleton; a grandson Brody, his step father David Matchett and his beloved pet, Max.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Debbie Young; son and daughter-in-law, A.J. (Angie) Young of Coshocton; daughters and sons-in-law, Christine (Roy) Thomas of Dresden, Julie (Bob) Roe of Coshocton, Laurel Kissel of Newcomerstown; grandchildren, Tiffanie, Andy, Stuart, Laken, Dakota, Keelyne, Nash, Gage, Rylee, Ryker; and 9 great grandchildren .

Funeral services celebrating Al’s life will be held Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Given-Dawson Funeral Home with Pastor A.C. Dockery officiating. Calling hours will be one hour prior to the services on Wednesday.
