

Anna S. Bender, age 88, of Coshocton, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2011 at Coshocton Health and Rehab. She was born in Coshocton County on December 3, 1922 to the late James and Jenny (Dawson) Jones. On December 3, 1939, she married James “Ed” Bender who passed away on June 11, 1984. She worked for Indianapolis Glove Company in the 196o’s and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Keene United Methodist Church, a 60 year member of the Keene Grange, and avid card player, was a wonderful cook and baker, she enjoyed bowling, playing horseshoes, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her two sons, James R. (Patricia) Bender and Forrest “Gene” E. (Nancy) Bender both of Coshocton; six grandchildren, Ed Bender, Jesse (Clare) Bender, Jacob (Lynn) Bender, Scott Bender all of Coshocton, George Bender of Tiffin, and Eugenia (Christopher) Long of Pataskala; nine great-grandchildren; brother, James Jones of Coshocton; sister, Tressa Lower of Coshocton; sister-in-law, Olive Bender of Keene; special cousin, Bonnie Dawson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Albert and Wayne Jones and sister, Lucile Richcreek, and an infant brother and infant sister. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Given-Dawson Funeral Home, Coshocton, on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 11:00 am, with Pastor Charles Warren officiating. Burial will follow at Coshocton County Memory Gardens. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 11, at the funeral home from 5-7:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made in Anna’s name to the Keene United Methodist Church, 27100 CR 1, Coshocton, Ohio 43812.
