Audrey Welker

Audrey Eileen (Barnes) Welker, age 82, of Coshocton, passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2012. She was born to the late Olive Kenyon Barnes on July 14, 1929, in Otsego, Ohio. Audrey graduated from Otsego High School in 1947. She married R. Charles “Pit” Welker on October 10, 1947. Audrey was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, was very active with volunteer projects with the LCW and was a Sunday school teacher at the church for many years. She enjoyed dancing, bowling, golfing, quilting, sewing, traveling, and spending time with her family. Audrey is survived by her son, Dr. Roy (Teresa) Welker of Wellesley, MA; daughter, Becky Welker (Jeff Holmes) of Phoenix, AZ; two granddaughters, Vanessa Yeatts and Alessandra Welker; and the family greatly appreciates, Kelly Klingler, Audrey’s caregiver for several years, for everything she has done. Along with her mother, Olive Kenyon, she is preceded in death by her husband, R. Charles “Pit”, who passed away on March 31, 2006. A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 14, 2012 at the Emanuel Lutheran Church, 1500 Pleasant Valley Dr., Coshocton, at 1:00 pm with Pastor Brian Kittner officiating. Burial will follow at Otsego Baptist Church Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, May 13, 2012 from 4-6pm at Given-Dawson Funeral Home, Coshocton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Audrey’s name to the Emmanuel Lutheran Church Scholarship Fund, 1500 Pleasant Valley Dr., Coshocton, Ohio 43812 or to the Coshocton County Animal Shelter, 21755 TR 164, Morgan Run Rd., Coshocton, Ohio 43812.
