
She attended Franklin University in Columbus and the University of Southwestern in Lafayette, Louisiana. Betty retired from the Department of Safety for the State of Ohio in December of 1999 after many years of dedicated service.
She was a proud member of the American Legion Post 85 in Newark and Saint Genevieve Church in Lafayette, Louisiana.
Betty loved to laugh and have a good time. She was an animal lover who always had a pet, and she enjoyed traveling and experiencing new places. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her niece, Becky Patterson, and her caregiver, Joe Roe.
Along with her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husbands, Charlie Frederick Wahl, whom she married on November 5, 1955, Anthony John Brecht, whom she married on July 17, 1971, and James Frank Minshall, whom she married on April 9, 1999; her brothers, Harry, Willie, George, Ralph, Glenn, Harold, and James Almack; and her sisters, Patricia Almack and Gertrude Mellor.
Per Betty’s wishes, a cremation will take place. Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home is serving the family.
