Donald George Brooks

Donald “Donny” George Brooks, age 65, of Coshocton, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, November 7, 2021. He was born on January 28, 1956, in Oakland, Maryland to the late George and Ethel (Davis) Brooks.

Donny worked for ODOT and the City of Coshocton in the Street and Sewer Departments for many years. On August 3, 1974, he married Kathryn (Sharier) Brooks who survives. Donny enjoyed camping, fishing, watching his birds and working outside. He also loved being with his family and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Kathryn “Candy” (Sharier) Brooks, son, Chad (Kelly) Brooks and daughter, Tia (Ray) Banks all of Coshocton. Seven grandchildren, Skyler, Dallas, Dalton, Milia, Sierra, Jessica and Lex; special niece and nephew, Charlene “Shar” Pettitt of West Lafayette and Gary Tennant of Coshocton, and several other nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Donny is preceded in death by his two brothers, Glenn Mayhugh and Kevin Brooks and one sister, Sandy Pettitt.

Per Donny’s wishes, a cremation will take place at a later date. Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home is serving the family.
