Francis Allen Thomas

Francis Allen “Frank” Thomas, 70, of West Lafayette, Ohio, passed away at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio, on Friday, October 26, 2012. He was born in Coshocton, Ohio, on November 27, 1941, the son of the late John and Dorothy (Holmes) Thomas. Frank graduated from Granville High School and was an Underground Coal Miner with Peabody Coal Co. and was also a Deputy of the Coshocton Co. Sheriff’s Department for 30 years, where he attained the rank of Sergeant. Frank was also a Bailiff of the Coshocton County Juvenile Court. He was first married to Joyce M. Rine, and later married to Carol Sue Bell, and she preceded him in death in 2010. Frank is survived by his son: Patrick (Darlene) Thomas of Clearwater, Florida, his daughter: Jackie (Vince) Hershberger of West Lafayette, Ohio, his step-daughter: Patricia Jones of Newcomerstown, Ohio, two brothers: Robert (Martha) Thomas of Jeromesville, Ohio, Terry (Pam) Thomas of Coshocton, Ohio, four sisters; Sandy (Clarence) Fortune of Conesville, Ohio, Judy Fortune of Warsaw, Ohio, Patricia (Wayne) Waite of Coshocton, Ohio, and Sheri (Carl) Chapman of Coshocton, Ohio, several grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by one brother: Larry. Cremation will take place and his remains will be interred at a later date. No public services are scheduled.
