Gene B. Grace

He graduated from Three Rivers High School, Coshocton in 1962. On October 13, 1963, he married Dee Lynn Bible, and they had two children, Lora and Douglas.

Gene dedicated 30 years of his career to Western-Southern Life Ins. Co, retiring as District Manager of the Coshocton and Cambridge Offices. Never one to sit still, he later spent 15 years serving families at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home in Coshocton.

During his many years in Coshocton, Gene was deeply involved in his community. He served as Deacon, Trustee, and Elder at The Presbyterian Church, was an active member of Kiwanis, served as President of Friends of the Parks, and was a lifetime member of the Elks.

In his free time, Gene was an avid golfer and a devoted euchre player who never turned down a good game.

Gene is survived by his wife, Dee Lynn Grace; daughter, Lora L. (Douglas) Arledge; granddaughters, Delaney L. Arledge and Mariah J. Arledge; brother and sister in law, Dr. Gary and Tamia Bible of Oneida, TN; and many beloved nieces and nephews: Karen Wright, Kathy Stone, and Greg Walters of Coshocton; Tresha Burwell of Newark; Travis Grace of Colorado; Todd Grace of New York; Dr. Curtis Grace of Pennsylvania; Carrie Grace of Colorado; and Dr. Rachael Bible of Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Reverend Douglas G. Grace; step father, Edward M. Warren; sister, Betty Walters; and brothers, Edward L. Grace, Dean M. Grace, and Max A. Grace.

A memorial service celebrating Gene’s life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on March 31, 2026, at First Presbyterian Church, 110 W. Broadway, Granville, Ohio 43023. Interment will take place at South Lawn Cemetery in Coshocton at a later date. Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home is serving the family.
