Marilyn J West

Marilyn J. West, 76, of Coshocton, died Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Lafayette Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in West Lafayette following an extended illness. Born in Coshocton, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Mary Wills Dawson. Marilyn was a graduate of Sacred Heart School in Coshocton, a member of Sacred Heart Church in Coshocton and also a member of the Coshocton Eagles. Marilyn was also an avid lover of bowling and bingo. In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, the late Ronald E. West, who passed away January 3, 2011. Surviving are two sons, Brad (Nadine) West of Coshocton and Brian (Melissa) West of West Lafayette; a daughter, Theresa (Randy) Shaffer of Newark; three brothers, Francis “Mike” (Jill) Dawson of Ft. Wayne, IN, Charles (Vickie) Dawson and Larry Dean (Valerie) Dawson of Coshocton; six grandchildren, Keith (Stephanie) Shaffer, Jeff (Michelle) Shaffer, Ryan (Kayla) West, Tara West , Sanda West and Evan Colling; 3 Great-Grandchildren, Claire Shaffer, Remington Philabaum and Brayleigh Locke. In addition to her parents and her husband, Marilyn was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Jane West-Hook; a brother, Harvey Dawson, a sister, Patricia Mencer and a nephew, Wayne Mencer. A funeral mass will be conducted Friday, January 20, 2012 at 2 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Coshocton with Father William Hritsko officiating. Burial will follow at Coshocton County Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at Given-Dawson Funeral Home in Coshocton on Friday from 1 PM until time of the mass.
