Mary McCoy

Mary Louise (Chaney) McCoy , age 96, of Dresden, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Willow Haven Nursing Home in Zanesville. She was born in Coshocton County on October 28, 1914 to the late Emmett and Elizabeth (Rine) Chaney. Mary was a graduate of West Carlisle High School and on December 14, 1935, she married Arden G. McCoy. She was a lifelong member of Branch United Methodist Church, a lifelong member of the Branch WCTU society; she loved watching hummingbirds on her patio, enjoyed having animals, was a wonderful baker, and enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, Clay (Ann) McCoy of Coshocton, Wilson (Kay) McCoy of West Lafayette, and Mim Bay of Dresden; four grandchildren, Mike Bay (Mary), Lorri (Chad) McCune, Tanya (Kirk) Cognion, and Carla (Jimmy) Miller; five great-grandchildren, Nicole and Zachary Austin, Cohen and Slade Miller, and Alaina Bay; two brothers, Joseph (Gertrude) Chaney of Dresden and Edwin Chaney (special friend, Mattie) of Frazeysburg; son-in-law, Wayne Bay; and several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband, Arden, who passed away on November 10, 1988; grandson, Myles McCoy; two sisters, Helen Pigman and Eleanor Miller; and one infant sister. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at 2:30 pm at Branch United Methodist Church, 19561 CR 4, Coshocton, Ohio 43812, with Pastor Joel Mason officiating. Burial will follow at Branch Cemetery. Calling hours will be held at the church on Wednesday from 1:30-2:30 pm.
