

Mary was born in Coshocton County on October 18, 1924 to the late Frank and Laura (Royer) Quill. She was a graduate of the 1942 class of Sacred Heart High School. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Society of St. Vincent de Paul, and Catholic Women’s Club. One June 12, 1950, she married Robert Smith, who preceded her in death on November 2, 1996. In 1989, she retired from Edmont B-D. Mary had the special gift of hospitality. She enjoyed entertaining her family and friends with dinners, parties, and celebrations in her home. She loved gardening, decorating her home, playing cards, but above all, she loved the Lord.
Mary is survived by four children: Marla (Steve) Willeke, Tank Smith, Kim Sheneman, and Kelly (Keith) Carroll; seven grandchildren: Katie and Steven Willeke, Nichole (Brian) Yager, Joshua Sheneman, and Marcus, Cody, and Kimberly Carroll; three great-grandchilren: Taylor Smith, Blake Alexander, and Landon Sagala; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, Mary is preceded in death by her son, Kevin Smith, granddaughter, Amber (Sheneman) Sagala, great-granddaughter, Aubrey Sagala, five sisters: Cecelia Bordenkircher, Veronica Quinn, Margaret McFarland, Francis Spang, and Catherine Quill; three brothers: Vincent “Bud,” Jospeh, and Anthony Quill.
Calling hours will be held at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from 5-8 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Coshocton County Memory Gardens.
