

Norma J. (Welling) Uher, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2016. She was born on June 24, 1933 in Millcreek Twp., County Rd. 126. She was the daughter of Walter and Ada (Stroup) Welling, and had three sisters, Mary Brenly, Evelyn Fisher, and Dorothy Stein, who all preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Uher, and they celebrated 61 years of marriage on August 29, 2015. Also surviving are five children, David (Polly) Uher of Woodland Park, CO , Karen (Mike) Lombardo of Canal Winchester, OH, Judy (Mark) Douglas of Zanesville, OH, Daniel (Jan) Uher of Alexandria, KY, and Douglas (Lynn) Uher of Graytown, OH. She has 14 grandchildren (one deceased) and nine great-grandchildren.
Norma graduated from Keene High School in 1951 as class salutatorian. After graduation, she worked at Edmont’s offices and then worked in the chemistry office at The Ohio State University. Her next job was raising a family, which was her pride and joy. She liked to garden, fish and read. She also, enjoyed camping and traveling. Norma was known for her soft smile and for always putting other people’s concerns first.
Services will be held at Given-Dawson Funeral Home on Monday, May 23, 2016 at 12:00 pm with Reverend Dairel Kaiser officiating. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 10:00-12:00 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to the America Cancer Society-Relay for Life-Keene United Methodist Church, 27100 CR 1, Coshocton, Ohio 43812 or to Hospice of Coshocton County, 230 S. 4th Street, Coshocton, Ohio 43812.
