
R. Joan Griley, age 71, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at The Ohio State Medical Center in Columbus. She was born on July 14, 1939 in Mt. Vernon, to the late Charles and Reba (Belcher) Keller. In 1957, she graduated from Mt. Vernon High School and on March 22, 1960, she married Richard J. Griley. Joan worked as a secretary for Corc Job Training in Coshocton for many years. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Coshocton, enjoyed watching TV, cooking, reading, texting, knitting, crocheting, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her six daughters, Debbie (Gene) Mentzer of Crooksville, Laurie (Tom) Mantell of Hilliard,Beth (Tom) Livingston of Fairlawn, Leslie Griley of Coshocton, Heidi (Michael) Bartell of Twinsburg, and Tiffany (Aaron) Myers of Camden, SC; eight grandchildren, Matthew Bordenkircher, William Bordenkircher, Brittany Mantell, Andrew Mantell, Jorgen Alverson, Gregory Mentzer, Samantha Myers and Daniel Myers; one great-grandchild, Madison Bordenkircher; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews; special friends, Jeff and Debbie Corder; and her four special grand kitties, Lady Gray Shadows, Sweet Kate, Lucky, and Little Man. Along with her parents, Joan is preceded in death by her husband who passed away on August 8, 1997, an infant brother, Norville Keith Keller; brother, C. Michael Keller; and sister, G. Elaine DePolo. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Given-Dawson Funeral Home, Coshocton at 3:00 pm with Pastor Jonathan Carlisle officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-3:00 pm at the funeral home. Per Joan’s wishes, a cremation will take place and burial will follow at a later date.
