Richard Lee Guthrie

Richard Lee Guthrie, age 65, went to be with the Lord on the eve of December 4, 2011 at his residence with his family by his side. Richard was born on December 9, 1945 in Bucyrus, Ohio, the son of Ruth L. Guthrie and the late Carl E. Guthrie. After graduating from John Glenn High School in 1964 and working for a short time at General Electric of Coshocton, Ohio he enlisted in the United States Navy. Richard proudly served his country aboard the U.S.S. New Jersey from September 1965 through November 1969; where friendships and bonds were made that have never been broken.

On July 31, 1970 Richard married his partner and best friend Vicki S. (Wolfe) Guthrie. Richard retired from General Electric in April 1999. Richard was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of Otsego.

Richard leaves behind his loving wife Vicki, three children, Richard Carl (Angela) Guthrie of Stuttgart, Germany, Erica Guthrie of Pickerington, Ohio, and Tracy (Heather) Guthrie of Coshocton, Ohio; and two grandchildren, Lacey & Aiden Guthrie of Coshocton, Ohio.

Richard also leaves behind many other loved family members, his church family, and many friends.

Calling hours will be Thursday, December 8, 2011 from 6-8pm at Given-Dawson Funeral Home in Coshocton, Ohio. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 9, 2011 at 11am in the Chapel of Given-Dawson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens where the Coshocton County Veterans Council will perform military honors.
