Valeta F. Kittell

Valeta Faye Kittell, age 90, of Coshocton passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2013. She was born in Pickaway County, Ohio on July 25, 1922, to the late Vernon and Lula (Leyendecker) Burke. Valeta graduated from Canal Winchester High School and married Wilson “Kit” Kittell Jr. on May 12, 1943.

She was a Methodist by faith. Valeta enjoyed cross stitching, sewing, was a great cook, baker and enjoyed bowling. Most of all she will be remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother who truly enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her four sons, Dean (Sandy) Kittell of Coshocton, Donn Kittell and special friend, Terri of Edison, New Jersey, Dana (Terry) Kittell of Coshocton, and David Kittell of Coshocton; nine grandchildren, Lynn Powelson Jr. and special friend Crystal, Tammy Powelson, Jeff Kittell, Donn Eric (Jody) Kittell, Vernon Kittell, Kenny Kittell, Kevin (Tiffany) Kittell, Jayson (Tracy) Kittell, and Nicole Kittell (Fiancé John Jacobs); 11 great-grandchildren, Alexandra Kittell, Shayla Kittell, Jeff Kittell Jr., Brenna Kittell, Branden Kittell, Allison Kittell (Fiancé Matt Limburg) Julia Kittell, Andrew Kittell, Mariah Kittell, Kennedy Kittell, and Griffin Kittell; brother Dorwin Burke of Columbus; sister, Dorotha Pachy of Lancaster and many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Valeta is preceded in death by her husband Kit who passed away on January 14, 1999; a brother Donald and a sister Marie.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Given-Dawson Funeral Home with Pastor Don Lain officiating. Burial will follow at Coshocton County Memory Gardens. Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 6, 2013 at the funeral home from 4-8:00 pm and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
