Wilford Eugene Taylor

His children liked to joke that their Dad had 9 lives, like a cat, as he had numerous health issues over the years, and always managed to bounce back. He used up his 9th life on March 29, 2026. Now he is in Heaven, where he has long wanted to be.

Wil and his family moved numerous times during his childhood. He eventually moved to Coshocton in 1957, which became his forever home.

Wil worked at Kroger’s, General Electric, and AK Steel. He retired from AK Steel in 1998. During his early retirement years, he worked for Forbes Furniture.

He liked riding his Gold Wing Motorcycle in his younger years. Later in life, he enjoyed being outside, observing nature and mowing at High Acres. Wil was active in both the Presbyterian and Cavalry Baptist Churches in Coshocton.

Wil is survived by his son, Todd (Angie) Taylor and his daughter Lisa (Dewey) Thompson; four grandsons, Alex (Rebecca Douglas) and Erik Taylor, Justin (Grace) and Jordan (Stephanie) Thompson; and three great-granddaughters, Charlotte, Josie, and Raegan.

Wil was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Maxine Matthews and Phyllis Pappas; his brother, Lanny Taylor; his nephews, Steve and Dan Spaulding; and his infant granddaughter, Erin Taylor.

His children wish to express their gratitude to all Windsorwood staff for the loving care they provided to their Dad. The family also wishes to thank Shrivers Hospice for their services, as well as his special caregivers/sidekicks, Paula Duling, Carolynn Lewis, and Angie Beatty, who kept him active.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM with Pastor Mark Unrue officiating. Services will conclude with burial at South Lawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Wil’s name to the Windsorwood Activity Fund, 255 Browns Lane, Coshocton, Ohio 43812.
