Amalia Rosas De Ramírez was a beloved matriarch whose life was marked by strength, faith, and an enduring love for family. She was a longtime resident of Costa Mesa, California, and Plano, Texas. Born in Durango, Mexico, she later lived in Jalisco with her sister Anna, where they patiently waited six years for the opportunity to begin a new life in the United States.
Amalia embraced life with courage and grace. She had a deep love for singing, traveling, and caring for children and animals alike. Strong both physically and in spirit, she faced life’s challenges with resilience and dignity. Wherever she went, her beauty, warmth, and zest for life never went unnoticed. She would often say, “me están echando flores,” meaning, “they are giving me flowers,” a reflection of her humility and joyful humor.
She found great happiness in dancing, listening to live music, attending church, participating in Bible study, and spending time with friends. Her bright smile and authentic, contagious laugh brought comfort and light to everyone she loved.
Amalia was deeply humble, caring, and generous. She opened her home and her heart to family whenever they were in need, offering love, warmth, and support without hesitation. She also had great compassion for those less fortunate and was always respectful and giving to the homeless. Through her actions, she taught her family the importance of humility, kindness, and caring for others, setting an example that will continue to be lived out through all who loved her.
Amalia is survived by her four children—Oscar, Victor, Lupe, and Liz—as well as many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, all of whom carry her legacy of love and strength and generosity forward.
Through her life, Amalia taught us invaluable lessons: to experience the world fully, to live with integrity, to remain humble, to care for one another, and to face life with hope. Almost daily, she sang the words she lived by: “Canta no llores”—sing and do not cry. Her spirit reminds us that every dawn brings renewed light, and with it, the promise of hope and love.
A memorial service will be held at Harbor Lawn-Mt. Olive Memorial Park & Mortuary, located at 1625 Gisler Ave, Costa Mesa, CA, 92626-2201, United States. The service is scheduled for February 9, 2026, at 12:00 pm.
