A memorial service for Corinne will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Harbor Lawn-Mt. Olive Mortuary & Memorial Park, 1625 Gisler Ave, Costa Mesa, California 92626.
Corinne's life was full of many chapters, from her early life growing up in a rural small town in Pennsylvania where she swung on tire swings, was a Girl Scout and tossed and twirled the baton in local parades, through her lifelong work what many called a master planner and scheduler. She was a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a grandmother better known as Nana ... a traveler, a foodie, a music lover, a book worm ... sharing several chapters of the last part of her life with husband Joe and their blended family ... he fed her soul with music and her appetite with his eggplant parmigiana and other Italian dinners, including the Feast of the Seven Fishes on Christmas Eve.
Corinne's life began on April 14, 1953, born in Erie, Pennsylvania to parents Sally and Bob Bille. She was the oldest of four children: two sisters Barbara and Gwen, and brother Keith the youngest. All the children were born in St. Vincent's Hospital.
Her mother said "She was a good baby all the time. And very independent it seemed from the start."
Corinne and her siblings, were raised Catholic, went to church at Holy Cross and to catechism in a small town where was a creek behind the house with lots of trees to climb and hand tire swings from. In the summer they would take trips to nearby lakes, all piled into the family station wagon.
There was a 150-year old barn behind the house in which the top half of it where they put the hay was taken off and that's what was used for the basketball court and in winter an ice rink for skating.
The house was right in the middle of town, and close to everything including schools. So up until high school Corinne would walk to school. When she went to Fairview High School, she took the bus as it was 10 miles away. In her junior and senior years she worked as a waitress in a nearby restaurant.
Corinne was a big sister to all three siblings and would watch over and protect them, however she did have a teasing side where she with encourage them to do crazy things, so she could have a big laugh at the end.
Her Mom said she was always an A-student in school, and good at everything she did. She'd come home from high school and do her homework without having to tell her, and then get out recipes to start baking cookies. She helped with the younger kids, and especially helped with Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner, including helping with the Christmas decorations.
Corinne did attend some college at Penn State with accounting and management classes, but she went to work in the plastics industry at Johnson Controls soon after high school. First starting out in clerical and administrative work, but moving quickly into management overseeing the scheduling and production. This would be the beginning of her lifelong career in materials management and planning.
Corinne then got married and moved out of the family home and lived only a few blocks away. She had her daughter Cache who was adored by her grandparents Sally and Bob.
Several years later, Corinne was remarried and moved to California where her career progressed with several other professional companies, including the KippGroup and Titan Plastics. Then ultimately working for Chuck and Michael Brewer for several of their companies up until her retirement in late 2019.
She was always well respected by her coworkers, because she was strict and expected everyone to do their very best at work. She was an inspiration and mentor to many of her coworkers throughout the years.
She met her current husband Joe at the KippGroup, and after several year were married in 2001. Their primary bond centered around traveling, where they began a tradition of attending the Monterey Jazz Festival every September to celebrate their wedding anniversary. They both loved to travel in their Airstream Travel Trailer with a focus on visiting many of the National Parks.
Corinne was very athletic, including running a marathon with sister Gwen back in Erie. She then loved skiing, bicycling, running, and eventually walking. She would walk the local river trail 3 to 5 miles everyday.
Corinne was a very giving person, always focused on others needs and staying in contact with all her family and friends. She had a calendar with everyone's birthday and anniversary written in, so that she would remember to send them a Hallmark card for every occasion. She loved to read, covering at least one or two books a week, always with a book or her kindle in hand.
Corinne was a kind person, not realizing what a profound impact she had on so many lives. And that the attention she gave to others is truly the purest form of generosity.
