Edward “Pete” Peter Caron was born and raised in West Warwick, Rhode Island, the beloved fifth of six children to Edward and Yvonne Caron. From an early age, his mother lovingly called him Pete, a name that stayed with him throughout his life.
Pete began his career working in the local mill before making a life-changing move to Costa Mesa, California, in 1966. He married and had three children. He dedicated 31 years as a welder in the oil fields, known for his hard work, skill, and dedication.
Beyond his profession, Pete found his greatest joy in family. He was a devoted presence at gatherings and had a passion for coaching basketball at the Boys Club, positively influencing many kids. He also had a love for gardening and travel. He enjoyed driving the open road and exploring different parts of the country. Each year he made sure to return back home to visit his sisters and parents.
A true handyman, he was always working on home improvement projects, constantly finding ways to make a house feel like home.
Pete was an avid supporter of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots, cheering on his teams through every season. He loved country music and western shows and could always be found watching his favorite TV shows from when he was a kid, especially Gunsmoke.
Pete is survived by his loving significant other of 43 years, Pat; his sisters, Gert and Paulette; his son, Eddie, family members Ben and Mike, six grandchildren and his beloved dogs, Maryrose and Kiko. He passed away at 86, on February 27, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, kindness, and unwavering devotion to family and friends.
He will be dearly missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
