He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Doris Koch as well as his two daughters, Elizabeth Calvitti and Doreen Feeley, sons-in-law, William Calvitti and Tyler Feeley and four grandchildren – Michael Calvitti (wife Misti), Amy Calvitti, Matthew Feeley and Melissa Feeley.
Frederick was born to Friedrich Koch and Magdalena Schneck in New York City and spent the majority of his childhood in Kaiserslautern, Germany. He returned to New York City in 1947 where he met and married Doris Fella. Frederick served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War in Okinawa. He worked as a machinist/machine builder for 40 years for various companies, most notably AMF, Inc. both in New York and in the mid-seventies in Orange County. He enjoyed woodworking and bowling as hobbies and was always eager to learn new things, learning how to use personal computers and taking up French after his retirement.
Frederick was devoted to his family and will be terribly missed for his kind and gentle soul and quiet strength. A private family service will be held, and Frederick will be buried at Riverside National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Foundation of America.
