Greta Anne Venter

Greta, born September 21, 1937 passed away peacefully on January 16, 2025, her family at her side. She is survived by her son Scott Venter of Fountain Valley, CA, daughters, Vicki Venter, of Huntington Beach, CA, and Darci Schneider, of San Jose, CA; grandchildren, Melissa (Venter) Keates of Pollock Pines, CA and David Schneider, Megan Schneider-Calderon and Lindsey Schneider of San Jose, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray “Bud” Venter in 2016.

Greta, born in Natrona Heights, PA, attended nursing school in Pittsburgh, PA, married in 1958, travelled the world residing in New Kensington, PA, Akron, OH, Salinas, CA, Nairobi, Africa, Manila, Philippines, London, England, Henderson, KY, Costa Mesa, CA and settled into retirement in Cathedral City, CA. Greta’s career as a nurse ranged from hospital nursing, convalescent care nursing and medical office nursing from 1957 through 2004. During their retirement, Greta and Ray spent time venturing in their RV across the country and into Canada, sightseeing, relaxing and visiting family. Greta filled the last years spending time with her children and grandchildren. Greta, loved for her quiet presence and supportive nature, will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
