Ilana was a sweet and sensitive woman whose sense of humor and caring nature brought smiles to her family. She was warmhearted and demonstrated abundant love for her sons, including recently spending memorable Thanksgiving and Hanukkah celebrations together.
In addition to her sons, Ilana is survived by her mother and stepfather Mona and Ray Grastin, and sisters Tamara, Sydel and Aviva, and Aviva’s husband Jeff Orr. She also leaves behind nieces and a nephew who adored her dearly: Tasha Levin, Romy Armiger and her husband Jason, Talia and Ashtyn Orr and Daniel and Avery Lisi. She was predeceased by her father Samson Louria.
After moving from South Africa to the Boston area in 1995, she became an office manager at a law firm. She married in 1997 and years later settled in Irvine to start a family and earn an Associate’s degree from Irvine Valley College. Ilana also enjoyed serving as an aide for special needs children, which enriched her life as much as she uplifted theirs.
Ilana was also a passionate dog lover. She spoiled her precious Shinx, her trusted Shih Tzu companion for more than a decade. Just a few weeks ago she adopted a new adorable puppy, Prince, who will now have a home with her niece Romy’s family.
Those who knew Ilana will remember her for her unwavering commitment to her boys and affection for her dogs. Her kindness and compassion will not be forgotten. Ilana’s spirit will continue to shine brightly in our hearts.
