It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Anna Nash (Greene), a gentle and beloved soul, who passed away surrounded by family at the age of 75, in Courtenay, BC. She was born and raised in Point Verde on the east coast of Newfoundland.
Anna was the daughter of Thomas and Mary Greene, a lighthouse keeper and a teacher, whose integrity and dedication to her family will remain permanently woven into our memories. She fostered a life-long love of learning which continued alongside her career at CIBC and Canada Revenue Agency, gaining her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Simon Fraser University just before retirement. She was a devoted grandmother who travelled extensively and who frequently claimed that everything can be solved over of cup of tea’.
Anna leaves behind daughters Megan Keogh (Alan) and Andrea McCarthy (Ben), grandchildren Jacob, Dawson and Madison; brothers Gerald, Patrick, George (Sharon) and Larry; sisters Maureen and Carmelita (George) as well as many cherished nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents Thomas and Mary Greene and sister Cecilia.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Anna’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada, the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of one’s choice.
