

He leaves behind his children, Darrell, Angela, Curtis, five Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchilden.
Arnold was born in Birch River Manitoba a mixed farming community. Opportunities were limited, so he joined the RCAF. In Clinton, Ont. He met his future wife Yvonne and was married in the Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, In Toronto.
While working as a private (Radar Tech), Arnold went back to night school achieving his high school diploma. Over the years with the military Arnold’s rank increased to that of Sergeant. The military subsequently sent him to Carleton University where he receive a Degree of Bachelor of Arts and his Commission. Arnold had an extensive 30 year military career with career highlights in Peace Keeping Tours (Middle East), a Deputy Base Commander of CFB Falcon Bridge (Sudbury), and finally working as a Project Manager retiring with the rank of Major.
Retiring to the Comox Valley he became an active member of Christ the King Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus (Past Grand Knight), dedicated member of Society of St. Vincent de Paul (Past President). He also helped run the Soup Kitchen and visited the poor in their homes serving their Temporal needs with his wife Yvonne.
Arnold was avid sailor performing a Trans-Atlantic crossing and bringing 2 boats up from Mexico and California. When sailing with Yvonne she steered the boat while he performed the grunt work. As an avid gardener he loved planting, tending and admiring his flowers and fruit trees but he gained the most joy being around his loving wife Yvonne performing the daily mundane gardening chores.
