Edna Ruth Whitworth

Edna was born in St. Joseph's Hospital, Comox, and resided in the Comox Valley her entire life.

Upon graduation from nurse's training in Victoria, B.C. Edna returned to the Comox Valley area and nursed in Cumberland Hospital for many years before relocating to St. Joseph's Hospital, Comox, B.C. Where she worked until retirement.

Edna enjoyed a variety of interests including baking, bowling, playing bridge, gardening, camping, sewing, knitting and attending church & bible study. She loved to cook and bake for family & friends.

Edna had a great sense of humour, always looked on the positive side of life, was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was very proud of her grandchildren and always looked forward to their visits. She enjoyed attending church services and looked forward to connecting with people she loved spending time with.

Predeceased by: Parents- Lilburn & Ila Ruth Hunt, husband-Jim Whitworth, daughter-Carol Ann Nelson, daughter -Lynda McNabb, brother's-Robert Hunt, Floyd Hunt, Bill Hunt, husband-Jim Akeroyd & family (Doug, Judy, Dave)

Survived by: granddaughter-Rachel Johnston (Andy), grandsons-Jimmy Jay Johnston(Jessica), Jason Hargreaves, Jeremy Hargreaves (Tammy), 5 great grandchildren and many nieces & nephew throughout Canada & USA

Family would like to express sincere gratitude to all Edna's caregivers for the excellent care she received. A special thank you to Dr. E. Howard for his dedication and care.
