In celebration of an amazing, gentle and gracious man, it is with heartbreak that we share the passing of Jim Miller on November 27th. He went to join his Beloved, Doreen, peacefully, with dignity at home as he wished, surrounded by love with Michele and Daniel, grand dogs Pepper and Denny. He is now with angels that went before him including wife Doreen, and so many dear friends and family. No words describe the loss felt by his daughter, Michele (Chef Daniel), family Carol (Bob), Marlene (Marcel), Erik, Nancy, Ken (Pat) and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.
Through life in Lamont, Edmonton, Kelowna (Gallaghers) and enjoying family and friends at his cabins at Wabamun and Mercoal, and finally on Denman Island, his genuine strong character and gentle soul touched everyone he met. He was always a great but silent presence, willing to help anyone and adding quick wit and quiet guidance.
As a construction engineer, his perfectionism came through. He built homes and cabins for his family to enjoy. He loved to fish, hunt and garden; and build anything you asked him to. Later in life he was known to putter and always working on an odd job here and there. While Doreen had her gadgets, he had his tools. Always depended on for input on everyone’s DIY projects. He put everyone else ahead of himself in all he did.
No service will be held at this time to respect his wishes. We will gather in the future to celebrate his life and share the joy of having him in our lives.
To honour Jim, please donate to the SPCA or a charity of your choice.
