Joanne was the 6th of 7 children. After leaving Prince George at an early age, the family moved to White Rock where her most memorable moments were spent growing up with family and exploring the oceanside. Later moving to Vancouver Island she married and had 3 wonderful boys for whom she cherished and loved with every ounce of her being. Jo-Anne’s greatest gifts were by far her grandchildren. “Nanny" loved spending time cooking, baking and adventuring to parks and beaches. Her sense of family was her greatest priority and she loved every moment she shared with each of us. Jo-Anne’s ability to connect and laugh drew people to her. She was blessed with many great friends and fond memories.
Jo-Anne was an accomplished hairstylist and business owner and in later years became a beauty sales representative, which suited her outgoing and creative nature. Jo-Anne will be remembered for her incredible sense of humour, desire to care for everyone around her as well as desire to organize us all. Her life was short, however she touched so many with her kind heart and generous spirit.
Jo-Anne has joined her beloved parents Mrytle and Fred as well as her older brother Rae. She leaves behind in sadness her sons Robert (Terri), Stephen (Natasha), Christopher (Frida) and her amazing grandchildren Jessie, Alyssa, Destiny, Jakob, Logan, Annelise, David, Jackson, Shane and Taylor. Her partner in life Dennis, brothers Robert (Shan), David, Al (Sheri), Clifford (Leanne) and sister Annette, as well as nieces and nephews Samuel, Maile, Tonya, Echo (Riley Rae), Jammie, Sandra, Thomas and Cody.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday Dec. 11, 2016 at the Crown Isle Golf Resort in the Copper Room at 1 pm.
