It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of John “Jack” Charles Price on Monday, April 6, 2026. Jack will be lovingly remembered by his wife Julie; sister Peggy; son: Dean (Marlene), daughter: Tammy; grandchildren: Patricia (Chris), Jesse (Mandi), Brandon and Simon. Great-grandchildren: Hayden, Jack, Keir, Asher and Jayce; as well as nieces, nephews, family, and friends. He was predeceased by parents, John, Lillian, and Ernie; his sister Joan; and grandson Jordan. Jack was born in Coleman, Alberta in April 1938 and grew up in the Crowsnest Pass. After school, Jack joined the Royal Canadian Navy and on his posting to Victoria from Cornwallis, he met Julie on the train travelling across the country. They married a year later! He travelled the world for a few years and then became a Millwright. After working in Crofton and living in Duncan for a few years, he moved his family to Quesnel, where he eventually retired from working at Cariboo Pulp and Paper. Jack and Julie moved to Port Alberni to be closer to the cabin they built in Salmon Beach, Ucluelet. In 2024, they moved to Comox to be closer to family. Jack will be dearly missed and in our hearts forever. A Celebration of Jack’s Life will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 11:00 at the Courtenay Civic Cemetery (4768 Island Hwy North), followed with a reception at Piercy’s Funeral Home (440 England Ave).
