Konrad [ to me ] was always a fun and gregarious guy who willingly shared his thoughts, views, and experiences which were nearly always punctuated with an explosive laugh that rivaled my own! LOL

His huge laugh and expressive nature always gave you a 'clue' that he was around, and the mischievous glint in his eye alerted those in the vicinity that he had something planned.., and you had better be prepared because it was ‘coming down the pipe’ in short order! Yet despite his outgoing demeanor, it appeared to me, there was a shy and more reserved side to Konrad which I felt honored to see on rare occasions.

My favorite memory of Konrad was spending time canoeing along the length of Great Central Lake to, and from, Della Falls. He loved to ‘MOTOR’!! He was an engine that would NOT STOP. All ‘GO’, and only one speed.., throttle wide open! It seemed to me that he lived his life in the same fashion! 

I enjoyed sharing that time with him immensely!

After completing our return trip, we had time to sit on the beach and chat.., about everything.., and about nothing. It was uninterrupted time with a friend. It was the kind of time you couldn't capture otherwise! It was one of those times where I was able to catch a glimpse of the complexities of 'Konrad'! I felt honored to have shared that time with him. It will be a time that I will never forget! 

He was a 'force of nature' who inevitably put his own unique 'stamp' of friendship on all of our lives.

I will miss your 'larger than life' nature, and your huge easy laugh!

I am so saddened to read this news. I have many, many memories of Konrad.  There was a period of time when our families had a lot to do with each other.   He was my first young love and holds a special place in my heart as such. Thetis Island. Golf. Snowboarding. Pudding. Jaws. Suitcase shopping. Coffee and newspapers. Glow-in-the-dark stars. Herbal Essence. Stolen moments that spanned our entire teens and into early 20s. He was a special guy. My sincerest  condolences to his family.   

Konrad was one of a kind and a good friend.  I was lucky to have him always in my corner cheering me on and when I was really lucky to have him in the kitchen cooking me yummy food.  He loved caring for others.  I will remember our heart to hearts and him playing on my guitar.  I will miss him very much and always be thankful for the friendship and love we shared.

I'm so sorry for your loss, he often brightened up the room when he arrived.  We shared many good talks together . He will be missed .

Judi shared your sad news with us.  We are so, so sorry.  May our gracious Lord bring comfort to your aching hearts.  

Our most recent memory of Konrad was at Judi and Charlie's wedding.  He was preparing the salmon for dinner afterward, and later, standing at the barbecue making sure it was tastily prepared.  Remembering that your family had been at Prairie, we talked to him as he worked and enjoyed our visit with him.

I am so very sorry for your families great loss. I have so many great memories of Konrad.  He, like every Nikkel,  it was his laugh that definitely stands out to me.  He had such character, and he will be greatly missed.

Words cannot express the sadness we all feel for the loss of Konrad. He was a wonderful cousin with a wealth of energy and enthusiasm that brought us all joy.  Our heartfelt condolences to his brothers, sisters and parents. We love you and share your sorrow.

I (and my twin brother) played rugby with Konrad for a year in high school at LSS.   After a few years, with him on the island playing for Velox and me remaining on the mainland, we reconnected at summer tournaments like Williams Lake Stampede and SFU 7s.  He was always in good spirits, fun, and a good friend.  He was also one of the best rugby players I have had a chance to play with.  My deepest condolences to his family and friends.  He will be missed!  <3

I am deeply saddened.  I met Konrad a very long time ago, we both played for the Comox Valley Kickers and then again at Velox.  Konrad always has a special place in my heart.  My heart goes out to his family and friends.  RIP Konrad
