Thomas Radford died early in the morning of July 18, 2023. Born and raised in Comox, after studies at UBC, Tom spent much of his professional life in Campbell River where he raised his four sons. As a native son of Comox, he was keen to return to the valley where he lived out his long and happy retirement with his beloved wife Lorraine. Tom was the fifth generation of his family to live in the Comox Valley and was a devoted member of his community. He volunteered his time with Meals on Wheels and the Comox Valley Marine Rescue Society, and he could always be counted on for a wonderful story or to share some local history. In his leisure time he loved to read, garden, hike, fish, and handily defeat all comers at cribbage. He is survived by Lorraine, his four sons: Don (Peggy), Ken, Bob (Suzanne), and Brian (Karen); his seven grandchildren, Kristopher (Robyn), Jeffrey, Melissa, Brett, Kevin, Connor, and Keith; and his younger brother Dave. He will be greatly missed. A celebration of life will be held at Piercy's-Mt. Washington Funeral Home on August 12 at 1300 hrs. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the Comox Valley Marine Rescue Society. Finally, the family would like to thank the wonderful staff at The Gardens at Qualicum Beach for providing such a caring home for Dad to spend his last days.
