

Walter moved to Canada in 1951, where he found work in the coal mines in the Yukon and Cumberland, He also logged for Comox Valley Logging for many years and then the pulp and paper industry at Elk Falls Mill in Campbell River.
He resided in Courtenay for the last 5 years with his wife Edina, but lived in Merville for most of his life. Walter was a great story teller, loved gardening and traveling. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Walter leaves behind his loving wife Edina and their daughter Sharon. He also leaves behind his children: Rosemarie, Richard and Jens, and is predeceased by his son Rudolph in 1993.
Edina and Sharon wish to thank Dr. Swanson, the staff at St. Josephs’ hospital, and the VIHA home support team for their love and kindness. A special thank you to the Filipino community for their support.
A celebration of Walter’s life was held this past weekend in his home with family and friends.
