Aldyth McMurtry

Peacefully at the Lakeridge Hospital Oshawa on Thursday, April 6th 2017, in her 81st year. Dearly beloved wife of Donald for 58 years. Loving mother of Mary Ellen McMurtry and Nancey Roberts (Brian). Dear sister of Cecil Morrison (Betty), Perry Morrison (Kay), Sandra Morrison. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents John and Carrie Morrison of Haliburton, Ontario. Aldyth will be remembered for her devotion to her family and community. She was teacher for the Durham board of Education at schools in Courtice and Oshawa; Lifelong member at St. Andrew’s United Church (Oshawa), Courtice United Church and Faith United Church (Courtice); involved in the choir and with many committees of leadership mentoring children and youth in Sunday School and Hi C Youth programs. Aldyth enjoyed being a seamstress and quilter as well as many years camping and travelling. Family and friends will be received at FAITH UNITED CHURCH 1778 Nash Rd., Courtice for visitation on Thursday, April 13th, 2017 from 10 am until time of Service of Remembrance in the Sanctuary at 11 am. Followed by a reception. If desired donations may be made in memory of Aldyth to Faith United Church or a charity of choice.
