Brian Ashmore

Passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on Saturday April 23rd, 2016, in his 88th year.

Loving husband and best friend of Brenda (nee Knox) for over 65 years.

Loving father of Cheryl Whillans (Tony), and Michael Ashmore (Joanna).

The best Poppa forever to Jacquie Fice (Chris), Steven Whillans (Amber), Becky Whillans (Pete), and Poppa G. to Madeleine Fice.

Employee of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation for 25 years.

Prior to that, Brian worked in the Air Craft industry helping to build the Avro Arrow.

Brian was an extremely talented artist, excelling in all fields, first as a painter, an expert craftsman, and later in life an award winning bird-carver.

An avid bird watcher, Brian's passion for birding has left an enduring legacy for his entire family.

At Brian’s request, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life visitation and light reception will be held at COURTICE FUNERAL CHAPEL 1587 Highway 2, Courtice (905-432-8484) on Saturday, April 30th from 2-4 pm.
