Hubling, Calvin – on June 4, 2017, at the age of 24. He passed away in the arms of his loving parents. Despite his overwhelming deficits, Calvin’s smile and personality were infectious, creating new friends wherever he travelled. He loved holding hands and cuddling with anyone who would share body warmth. He also loved country music and camping with his parents.
For a boy who was not supposed to live past the age of five, not supposed to utter a sound, not supposed to interact or communicate with others, he certainly managed to show the doctors that boundaries are for sissies. He leaves behind a void that can never be filled. Saying goodbye are his parents, Ian and Linda, brother Matthew, grandparents Erma, and Jim and Warreen, uncles Bruce (Cathy), Cameron (Claire), and Steve (Lori) and cousins Melissa, Emily, Alex, and Madison. Not to be forgotten is Calvin’s special buddy, Nicole – his caregiver who never failed to lighten his load and make him smile and giggle.
Calvin’s parents would like to thank the kind and compassionate staff at Lakeridge Health (Oshawa and Bowmanville) who have provided such good care for Calvin during his many hospital stays since October 2015. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pediatric Glaucoma and Cataract Family Association (PGCFA), Sturge-Weber Foundation (US), or Lakeridge Health Foundation.
Private Family Service will be held at COURTICE FUNERAL CHAPEL, (905-432-8484), at a later date.
Online condolences may be placed at www.courticefuneralchapel.com
