After a brief illness, Clayton passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, on Thursday June 25, 2015, at the age of 72 years. Clay was the loving son of the late Aubrey and Flossie Nickerson of Woods Harbour, Nova Scotia. Fondly remembered by Joan Nickerson, the mother of Clay’s loving children Denise Nickerson, David (Tanya) Nickerson, Trudy Mackey and predeceased by his infant son Michael. Cherished grandfather to Rachel, Ryan, Amy, Aidan and Lauren he will be deeply missed and eternally referred to as their “Pa”. Dear brother of Tony, Vesta Mae, and Sherry, Clay is predeceased by his siblings: Aubrey, Carolyn, Sylvia, Darrell, Jennifer, and Trudy. Clay will be forever remembered by his many nieces, nephews and extended family here and in Nova Scotia.

The family would like to thank the many doctors and nurses at Lakeridge hospitals in both Oshawa and Bowmanville for their care of Clay during his brief stay in the Critical Care Unit. We are forever grateful for your professionalism, kindness, and empathy during this difficult time.

Visitation will be held at COURTICE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1587 Highway #2, Courtice (905-432-8484) on Monday June 29, 2015 from 7:00 – 9:00pm. A Funeral Service will be held at COURTICE FUNERAL CHAPEL on Tuesday June 30, 2015 at 2 p.m. Donations may be made to Hospital for Sick Children.
