Irene is survived by her husband, William (Bill), and her children, Sidona Lynch (Al Bonigut), Barry Lynch (Martha), and Ann Lynch. She was a proud grandmother to Jennifer Cassidy (Matt Johnstone), Jessica Kowaltschuk (Adam), Stuart Lynch, and Sarah Szmyr (Bryan), and a loving great-grandmother to Justin, Emily, and Riley Lynch, Russell and Harvey Szmyr, and Gavin and Kira Kowaltschuk. She is also remembered by her great-grandchild, Noah Lynch. Irene was predeceased by her parents, Sarah and Ludvig (Louis) Larsen, her sisters Beretta Birrell (Bill), Hilda Charlong (Earl), Elsie Larsen, and her brothers Alfred and Earl Larsen (Lida).
A visitation will be held at the Courtice Funeral Chapel, located at 1587 Highway #2, Courtice, on Thursday, February 26, from 9:30 am until the time of the funeral service in the chapel at 10:30 am.
Interment will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Whitby.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Hillsdale Estates in Oshawa would be appreciated.
