Morris was born on August 20th, 1947 in Bowmanville, Ontario to Jack and Joan Honeyman. He was raised there and graduated from Bowmanville High School before continuing his education at Ryerson University, where he earned a degree in business. Morris later went on to become a Social Worker and ended his career as the Director of Social Services for Kawartha Lakes.
Morris was known for his warmth that made everyone feel like family. He led with joy, laughter, and kindness, protected his loved ones with loyalty, devotion, and selflessness, and loved without hesitation. He enjoyed travelling, golf, getting coffee with his friends, spending time with his family, and a good Forty Creek rye and coke. In his retirement, he spent his time working at Canadian Tire, marshalling at Harmony Creek Golf Course, tending to his vegetable garden, and keeping up with his favourite teams, such as the Philadelphia Flyers.
Morris’s effortlessly welcoming, quick-witted, and fiercely loving spirit will live on through his wife, Carolyn; his children, Cindy, Jennifer, Derek, and Shawn; his grandchildren, Jenna, Brett, Taylor, Olivia, Ruby, Sadie, and Brooklyn; and his great-grandson, Grayson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Joan.
A private celebration of life will be held for his family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lakeridge Health Oshawa Cancer Center or Princess Margaret Cancer Center.
