Yvonne and the Sanger Family:
Norm's mother and my grandfather were sister and brother. When I was searching for information for the chapter Extended Family of my book, I rediscovered Norm and Yvonne. They welcomed me with open arms and bent over backwards providing me with stories and photos of the Sanger family in Grand Falls. Every visit was a joy. Their smiles lit up the room. They were a team, a class act, their busy lives an inspiration. And so we are reeling over the news of his death. My mom (Rea Hellier), Brownie and I grieve with you at this difficult time and send our love.

I am forever grateful for the moments I shared with Norm and Yvonne Sanger.  Wonderful memories I hold warmly in my heart. His celebration of life caused me to laugh and to weep; he did have a gift for creating happiness and making one feel appreciated and special, they both do.  My heartfelt sympathy to all if you at this time. May the loving and happy memories soon replace the tears. He lives on.

There are no words that can express how we feel. However, we have so many memories. Your trip home with the boys, the fun we had at Badger Lake. Our trip to Toronto, where you had so much enjoyment showing our girls the big city. The dinners and card games, and on and on. Norm was a great supporter of the chorus and "the barbershop" sound. We also enjoyed a little hockey together on a couple occasions. Our thoughts are with you this day.

My favorite memory will always be playing cards until way past my bedtime. I will cherish every laugh, every joke and all of the card skills you passed on to me.

Age never seemed an issue as he  fully embraced all life had to offer. Growing up Uncle Norm seemed more like a cousin as we were so close in age. It was not until retirement, however, that you both became really special to us, especially when you began to make your annual pilgrimage back home. We will miss those wonderful times. So sad to hear of another old schoolmate Passing. I have many great memories of Norm and our days in GFA. I especially remember the great time we had at our last class reunion a few years back as we sang a bunch of the old songs from the 50s.He will be missed by his family and also the community at large.
